An essential part of the Chrisitan journey is our on-going growth in our relationship with God and our faith and trust in Him. Spiritual formation is the process of maturing in our faith, in our Christ-likeness and in our ministry to others. Spiritual direction, discipleship, and coaching help to create movement in that process.
God's greatest desire is for us to be in an intimate relationship with Him and from this place of abiding in relationship with God we should live, move and have our being in Him, in all aspects of life. (John 15:5, Acts 17:28)
It is our heart and desire at Perissos to equip and empower leaders to connect with God in a real and personal way, as well as to help you mature in your understanding of who you are in Christ and the wonderful things to which God has called you to!
This partnership is called spiritual direction. It has also been called discipleship, life coaching, or mentoring. The true journey of faith and calling is one that is walked out between you and God. We are here to help facilitate movement in your relationship with God and what He has called you to do. There are times or seasons when we are stuck or need help in this process, especially as leaders as seasons change. We might even be in a season of temptation that we can't seem to overcome on our own. (James 5:16). This is when spiritual direction, discipleship, or life coaching can be a real asset to your spiritual growth, maturity, spiritual freedom and to your ministry.
A HIGH-IMPACT LEADER & MINISTRY
We are all called as Christians to live a high-impact life. Jesus did not give His life for anything less than for us to live in complete victory over sin, temptation, and bondage. He designed us to walk in the fullness of what He created us to be and do.
Through spiritual direction, discipleship or life coaching it is our desire to partner with you and your ministry as you pursue to walk in the overflowing and abundant life that Jesus promised in John 10:10. To facilitate the throwing off of anything that is hindering you and your ministry from running the race marked out for you (Hebrews 12:1-2).
We believe high-impact leadership occurs when one has:
• A deep & thriving relationship with Jesus Christ
• Revelation of who God is and who you are in Christ
• Hindrances, obstacles, constraints removed
• Clear vision, mission, and strategy for moving forward
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION SESSION
Typically, a spiritual direction or coaching session takes place usually twice a month and lasts about one to two hours per session. This varies depending on whether the session is with an individual or with a team. Perissos works with both leaders and their ministries to help equip, empower and create movement and growth in their ministries.
During that time, your spiritual director provides a safe, confidential and supportive environment where the directee can speak openly and honestly about his or her experience with God or other issues affecting their spiritual journey, calling and/or ministry. We also work with teams to discuss vision, strategy, planning, as well as work with any sort of team dynamics going on.
The role of the spiritual director or life coach is not to provide counseling. Rather we are here to encourage you to pursue your questions with the Lord and obtain your answers from the Lord (through prayer and the Word of God). There may be times where your spiritual director will encourage you with certain discipleship materials, homework assignments and possible ministry when spiritual breakthrough is needed.
The spiritual director serves as a guide who helps the directee be present to the work of God in their life and through their life. All spiritual direction sessions are private and confidential. They really vary depending on what each specific leader and ministry is needing.
WHO SEEKS SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?
Although spiritual direction and coaching is helpful for any follower of Christ, this ministry can be of particular benefit to those who:
• desire to know God more intimately
• want to deepen their prayer life
• desire how to hear God's voice
• want to be renewed in their identity in Christ
• want to discover their gifts and callings
• need spiritual breakthrough from sin or temptations
• need prayer ministry
• are under-going a life or spiritual transition
• feel stuck in their relationship with God
• feel blocked in reaching their calling, or the ministries calling
• need fresh vision, clarity and help with strategic planning

At the initial appointment, we will spend some time getting to know one another; as well as assessing and discerning what your personal or corporate ministry needs are. Sometimes, it takes a few meetings to see if the relationship is a good fit for both parties. Phone sessions and prayer appointments are available as well.
Perissos Institute receives donations that are tax-deductible Perissos coaches do not charge for their time, but their income and livelihood are derived solely from donated gifts. For various teaching and training events such as seminars, classes, retreats, and conferences, there might be a suggested donation.
